What to Expect from an Herbal Consultation
When you book an herbal consultation at Stardust Wellness, you're getting a personalized treatment strategy built around you, your body, and your specific health concerns.
It starts with understanding the full picture.
Your first appointment begins with a thorough intake. We talk about what's going on now, your full health history, and any assessments needed to understand the root of the problem.
These appointments are done online using our secure tele-health service, so you don’t have to be in Austin, TX to get access to our herbalists. (If you happen to be in Austin, though, you’re welcome to come into the office!)
Whether you're dealing with autoimmune issues, sleep disruption, anxiety, reproductive concerns, pain, bladder issues, or something else entirely, the goal is always the same: address your symptoms and the underlying conditions that created them.
We build a treatment strategy.
Most chronic conditions are treated in phases, each with its own custom herbal formula tailored to you, your condition, and where you are in the healing process. As your symptoms shift, your formulas shift with you. For acute conditions, you may only need one formula for a short amount of time
We talk about what success looks like.
Before you start, we walk through what signs and symptoms to watch for that tell you things are moving in the right direction and what to flag if something feels off. Every formula is crafted with the intention of minimizing unwanted side effects, not just treating the condition.
You're never left wondering how things are going.
We check in with you throughout the entire process to make sure everything is progressing as planned. These check-ins help us catch any unwanted side effects early, determine whether you're moving faster or slower than expected, and decide when it's time to transition to the next phase of your treatment. Nothing is set-it-and-forget-it. Your care evolves with you.
Safety is central to everything we do.
Not all herbs are safe for all people, and we specialize in herb-drug interactions. We'll not only screen for interactions with medications you're currently taking, but also flag herbs that could interact with medications you might be prescribed in the future, so you're always empowered with the information you need.
Only the highest quality will do.
The herbs you receive are never an afterthought. Herbs are not regulated in the United States, and quality can vary dramatically, which is why we take sourcing and vetting seriously.
We personally vet our suppliers, source from specific trusted farms and distributors, review third-party lab testing for things like heavy metals and pesticides, and verify the authenticity and identity of the herbs themselves.
We use organic and sustainably grown herbs whenever possible.
We also guide you beyond herbs.
Diet plays a real role in how quickly you heal, so we make specific food recommendations that will support your progress and what might slow it down. Lifestyle recommendations are often part of the picture, too.
You choose the format that works for your life.
Herbs can be taken in different forms. You can take your formula as bulk herbs (cooked at home), granules (mixed with water, like instant coffee), or custom-made tinctures. Consultations are available in person in Austin, TX, or online anywhere. Herbs can be picked up locally or shipped to you for the cost of postage.
Clinical herbalism. Not guesswork.
Chinese herbalism is the art of combining herbs, and it is infinitely complex. It isn't "this condition = this herb." For example, there are 100s of different herbs that address pain alone. Each person's pain is different, and each one gets a different combination of herbs.
This is why trying random herbs from the internet often doesn't get results. Without the full context, you're throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.
Your practitioner is an NCCAOM board-certified clinical herbalist, holds a four-year master's degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, including hundreds of hours of clinical herbalist training, has studied clinical herbalism extensively beyond that formal training, and has mentored with leading teachers in both the U.S. and China.
The goal is that you don't have to keep taking herbs forever.
Herbology doesn't work like medications, most of which, once you start taking you have to keep taking them for the rest of your life. The aim of taking herbs is always to get to the bottom of the issue so it doesn't keep coming back.

For acute conditions, timelines are often around a week. For more complex or long-standing issues, expect somewhere between 2 and 9 months, with some autoimmune conditions requiring 12–14 months.
